A European leader in B2B connectivity. From 0G to 5G, we're not just in the game, we're reinventing it. With our roots deep in B2B, Citymesh offers top-tier 4G/5G networks and innovative WiFi-as-a-service solutions. Are you ready to elevate your career within a telecom pioneer that's reshaping the industry?
For our Solutions Engineering & Development team we’re looking for a Systems and Applications Engineer. Joining this development engine of the company, you will engage in full stack development from bare metal to application layer, and in particular, anything in between. You will help design and build a scalable edge application framework, define deployment strategies, and drive lifecycle management across every layer of the solution. Beyond the platform itself, you will play a pivotal role in bringing mission critical applications to our customers on top of this scalable and automated platform (e.g., push to talk systems at ports and airports, where uptime and security are non-negotiable).
This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong architectural flavor. If you love the challenge of turning complex infrastructure into clean, automated, and reproducible platforms - capable of running in the most demanding operational environments - this role is for you.
Design and build a scalable edge-application framework, including deployment strategies and end-to-end lifecycle management at server, hypervisor, orchestration, and application level.
Define and implement infrastructure automation: provisioning, configuration management, orchestration and continuous delivery pipelines for edge deployments.
Evaluate and select hypervisor and container orchestration technologies to support multi-tenant, high-availability workloads in constrained environments.
Define and implement the approach to deliver (mission-critical) applications on this edge application framework in a scalable and secure manner.
Collaborate closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary engineering and development team, as well as the solution managers, to translate operational requirements into neatly integrated end-to-end solutions. In the case of Citymesh, our applications will run on mission critical networks, so affinity with network engineering, and speaking the same language as our network architects will be a major plus.
Define hardening, patching, and security policies for the stack you own.
Contribute to the Citymesh product portfolio by identifying new use-cases and evaluating emerging technologies in edge computing and application orchestration.
You hold a masters degree in computer science, or a related field. Recent graduates are very welcome.
You have a solid understanding of system architecture: bare metal server management, system sizing, hypervisors (e.g. KVM, VMWare, Proxmox) and container runtimes.
Your hands-on experience with orchestration tools and/or application frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker,,...) with a focus on automation, is a plus.
You have a strong affinity for infrastructure automation: CI/CD pipelines, configuration management (e.g., ansible), …
If you are experienced with observability and monitoring stacks (e.g., prometheus, grafana,...) and edge computing platforms, that’s a plus.
You know the network fundamentals or are genuinely interested in getting up to speed with them.
Familiarity with real-time application stacks is a plus (e.g., push to talk, VOIP,...).
Your entrepreneurial, proactive and ownership-driven attitude assures you’re comfortable on taking a problem from requirement to production.
Being a strong communicator in English and Dutch, French is an asset.
At Citymesh you will be part of an enthusiastic and ambitious team in which we greatly value your own input and believe in the growth of each of our employees.
We offer you a great opportunity to work for a fast-growing and innovative employer that operates as a challenger in the Belgian telecom market. Next to this, we also offer a wide range of benefits, including:
A full-time permanent contract.
An attractive salary package with fringe benefits such as meal vouchers (€8/day), eco vouchers, health insurance, CAO90 bonus, year-end bonus, net expense allowance, and an annual sector bonus in line with PC 200
A cafetaria plan allowing you to optimize your salary with options such as multimedia, pension savings, etc
A mobile phone subscription and the opportunity to purchase home internet at a highly discounted rate.
Enjoy the benefits of a company car including fuel card or choose for a mobility budget.
A modern, welcoming work environment where colleagues take center stage, making sure you feel truly at home.
Flexibility and hybrid working aren’t just promises: we ensure a healthy work-life balance through flexible hours and plenty of work-from-home opportunities.
You work 40 hours per week, meaning that on top of your statutory holidays (20 days), you also receive 12 additional days off per year (for full-time employment).
We have a genuine foodie culture: fresh fruit every Monday, homemade soup three times a week, and on Fridays, colleagues regularly enjoy grabbing fries together. Sushi lovers also frequently meet up for lunch.
Our office in Oostkamp is easily accessible, located close to the highway exit.
If you're ready to be part of an enthusiastic and ambitious team at Citymesh, where your input is highly valued, and your growth is a priority, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today and join us in reshaping the future.
